A student board of directors provides leadership within the Utah-Idaho Key Club district. The district board is comprised of a governor, district secretary, district treasurer, district bulletin editor, and district webmaster. For more information about the duties of officers, contact the district administrator. The district committees assist the executive board in accomplishing tasks in different areas. Committee chairs are appointed by the executive board to direct the members of the committee. The district committees are Technical Resources, Fundraising, Kiwanis Relations, Policy Elections and Events, Public Relations, and Major Emphasis. Each district governor is responsible for the overall operations of the district board. He or she trains other district officers, appoints committees and assigns directives, builds and maintains relationships with other Kiwanis-family leadership and communicates district needs and desires to the international board liaison.
The district secretary is responsible for regular, formal communication within the district board, between the district and international boards and between the district and division or club. He or she keeps and reports all district minutes and maintains all records for the district.
The office of district treasurer is responsible for monitoring district finances, creating and filing all appropriate reports and coordinating dues collection. He or she also contributes to the district newsletter and supports club treasurers.
The district bulletin editor is responsible for coordinating, editing and distributing district publications. This includes ensuring adherence to Key Club graphic standards and notifying contributors of deadlines and requirements.
The webmaster is responsible for creating graphic designs, managing the district website, and communicating with district Key Club members via social media. The webmaster works in conjunction with the bulletin editor as well as other positions to fulfill the technical needs of the district.
The Kiwanis Relations Committee establishes coordination between the Utah-Idaho Key Club District and other Kiwanis Family clubs (Circle K, Kiwanis) throughout the district.
The Policy, Elections, and Events Committee helps organize district events as well as manage the procedures and paperwork necessary for district elections. This committee works closely with the district board to ensure the success of district events.
The Public Relations Committee ensures that messages from the district board are properly distributed to the district. The committee manages the distribution of newsletters from the governor, treasurer, and lieutenant governors and works closely with the executive board to ensure delivery of materials and creating District resources and assisting the district webmaster and bulletin editor with requested tasks. This committee focuses on developing promotional media for mass distribution and increasing awareness of district events via social media.
The Major Emphasis Committee plans and executes district service projects. These service projects benefit other organizations and groups outside of the Utah-Idaho District.
