Become a Leader

Key Club provides many opportunities for student members to engage in leadership. Leadership is generally divided into positions in the club, division, and the district.

In order to serve as an officer at any level, the candidate must be a dues-paid member in good standing of the organization. The best way to learn about the responsibilities and demands of any given office is to speak with the current office holder.

Club

Generally, clubs will have their members elect their president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, and bulletin editor. Each club may have a slightly different procedure, so the best way to learn about running is to ask the club advisor or club officers. However, in order to serve as an officer at any level, the candidate must be a dues-paid member in good standing of the organization. The best way to learn about the responsibilities and demands of any given office is to speak with the current office holder.

Division

In the division level, the main leadership position available is lieutenant governor. To become a lieutenant governor, you must run for the position at District Convention. You will be required to fill out the necessary forms before DCON as well as attend DCON for caucusing and voting. The registration and election forms can be found in Section A and Section B of the DCON packet respectively. Find out more about running for a position at DCON.

District

At the district level, leadership positions include those in the executive board and the committees. The executive board consists of the governor, secretary, treasurer, and bulletin editor (for more information, click here). The district committees are Public Relations, Fundraising, Kiwanis Family, District Convention, Major Emphasis, and Member Relations (learn more here).
