Candidacy

In order to serve as an officer at any level, the candidate must be a dues-paid member in good standing of the organization. The best way to learn about the responsibilities and demands of any given office is to speak with the current office holder. If you are interested in running for lieutenant governor or for an executive board position, District Convention is where elections take place. Before running, you should be well versed in the responsibilities and requirements of the position you are interested in. For more information, contact the current incumbent or visit the Leadership page.
Prospective candidates must adhere to the following rules and procedures:
1. Candidates must attend the entire District Convention and adhere to the code of conduct. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
2. No pre-campaigning is allowed to take place. Candidates are not allowed to discuss his or her candidacy with members outside his or her school except for the district board.
3. Prior to DCON, fill out the Service Agreement for your position, which can be found in Section B of the DCON packet.
4. Should you be elected to a district office, you will be required to attend several events such as Board Trainer, Board Meetings, Fall Training Rally, and District Convention.
